This work embodies the transitory nature of the sky in relation to memory and the passage of time. I photograph transitional periods of the sky, capturing the striking colors that can be seen at sunrise and sunset. Digitally, I blend the photographed images together, creating more passages the emphasize the transition from reality to memory. These contemplative spaces are often where I exist, and become the realm in which my memories are stored. From my little hand on my mother’s chest, to exploring the woods behind our home with my sisters, I explore these childhood memories as I contemplate my relationship with my father, mother, and sisters. Creating these images, I honor my childhood and dwell in this realm of memory, saying a sort of farewell as I transition into adulthood.
